On Sunday, August 20 we’ll have a special presentation about the Mormon faith. Where did they begin? What do they believe? Join us after worship at 11:30 a.m. for lunch and the discussion in Fellowship Hall at Central!

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints: What are their distinct doctrines and practices?

Central Presbyterian welcomes Antonio (Tony) and Susan Vargas (parents of Central member Miguel Vargas) for an after-church lecture and discussion on the history and doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons).

Married 47 years and members of the LDS church for over 40 years, the Vargas’ recently served as full-time church education missionaries on the Island of Cyprus from 2012 to 2014. Tony served as a bishop for seven years, a counselor in a Stake Presidency for seven years and has taught high school Seminary for twenty years. Susan has served as an LDS Institute teacher, Gospel Essentials teacher and Gospel Doctrine teacher.  She has also been a Relief Society president twice, counselor many times and has served as Stake and Ward organist and pianist.

Lunch will be available for an in-kind donation.
