Service of Lessons & Carols for Advent
Don’t miss this musical offering Sunday, December 16. Prelude music begins at 3:30 p.m. and the service starts at 4:00 in Central’s sanctuary.
On Sunday afternoon, December 16, at 4:00 p.m., the Chancel Choir will present its annual performance of the historical Lessons & Carols. This favorite of Central Presbyterian Church was on a short hiatus but has returned to the sanctuary to be enjoyed by all. The program tells the Christmas story by scripture and song. A wide variety of musical styles will be included in this year’s presentation.
The musical prelude begins at 3:30 p.m. with selections by Central’s Morgen Bells, under the direction of Sue Hudson. On hand will be various vocal soloists: Miguel Vargas, Beth Triebel and Susan Voss; plus string bassist Joe Wandro. Plan to come early and enjoy the love and caring of each piece as it fits into the Christmas story.
Kevin Klimowski will be the narrator the lessons. The Chancel Choir is under the direction of Rich Dewein and Lois Harms is the organist. Pastor Wallace Bubar will participate with prayers and a welcome.
You may review A Festival of Lesson & Carols 2018 Program, including music selections and composers, musicians, singers and directors.
Childcare is available in the Nursery.
Refreshments will be served in the East Parlor following the performance.
