Youth Ministry Director
Lou Peters is serving as our director of youth ministry this year. He is originally from Lake Mills, Iowa and graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. While in college, he traveled a lot and spent most summers either abroad or working as a backpack guide in Colorado. After graduation, Lou spent five years teaching English and working with missionaries from the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) and PC(USA) in Malaysia, Cambodia and Thailand. He moved back to the States in 2017 and began taking classes at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minn. Lou just completed an internship at a Lutheran church in Bozeman, Montana and moved back to Iowa as he finishes up his classes. He loves sports and anything outdoors and is excited to be here.
Funding for the stipend for Lou Peters comes from the Central Foundation’s Skidmore Fund, which was established in 1999 by Wayne Skidmore, in memory of his wife Maxine, to support the education of those who are pursuing careers as ministers or other church-related vocations.
